May 2026: Care That Blooms - How Busy Women Bloom Year-Round Without Burning Out

When Care Blooms, You Bloom

You’re building something big… but slowly disappearing in the process. High achievers and cycle breakers are doing it all, oftentimes without help. When everything is a priority, nothing is a priority, and your needs are somehow always pushed to the bottom of the list.

Long, expensive routines are unsustainable, and so is running on empty. Self-care is not a luxury; it's the soil, the environment in which growth can take place.

How can you practice self-care regularly in a world that demands so much? Through bite-sized, intentional moments that bring you back into your body.

These moments soften your shoulders, set your mind at ease, and turn your shower into a portal of possibility. When you tend to yourself with the same energy as everything else, something major shifts.

As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, I’d like to invite you into the Full Bloom Mindset. Not to fix yourself or to merely avoid burning out, but to remember who you are and why

Part 1: Planting the Seed — Building Your Self-Care Foundation

Here's the thing about self-care that nobody talks about: it's not about doing more. It’s doing less. It’s an identity shift. Do less. Be more

That decision is the seed. And like any seed, it needs consistency to grow (not perfection). To be (in a world driven by doing) is to feel your existence fully, reconnect with your body, and let your intuition lead you through life.

I tap back into my being through morning prayer and walking, midday yoga, and a nighttime body care regimen.

Scent has a way of anchoring you to the present moment. When I reach for my body butter in the morning, I'm not just moisturizing — I'm signaling to my nervous system: we're taking care of us today.

A few rituals that can help anchor your mornings:

  • Take 3 deep breaths before you reach for your phone

  • Apply your body butter or oil with intention — massage it in slowly

  • Light a candle while you get ready and observe how the scent affects your energy

  • Write one intention for the day before you step out the door

You don't need a 12-step routine. You need a couple of anchors you'll actually return to.

Part 2: Tending the Garden — Nourishing Your Body From the Outside In

The modern world was designed to burn us out. This stress has a way of manifesting in our skin, hair, relationships, work; you name it - it’s there.

Instead of fixing, try tending. Like a gardener, gently tend to the areas of your life that need attention. Your body, mind, and spirit.

When people think about self-care, they think of bath salts and candles. They don’t understand their value — not just as products, but as tools for coming home to yourself.

Here's a simple evening wind-down routine to try:

  • Start in the shower with our Whipped Sugar Scrub — slough off the day and anything else you're ready to release

  • Step out and while your skin is still warm and slightly damp, layer our Body Oil all over — let it melt in

  • Light the Ivory Blossom candle and let the scent fill the room before you wind down

  • Take 5 minutes to just be still — no scrolling, no mental rehearsals

Part 3: In Full Bloom — The Mental and Emotional Side of Self-Care

To be at ease through anything is an elusive dream. You must decide to bloom despite evidence to the contrary.

Choosing to bloom isn’t lying to yourself. It’s not pushing through and pretending that there isn’t work to be done.

It’s acknowledging that a certain mindset paralyzes you, while another protects your energy and strengthens you while you do the work.

The Full Bloom Mindset is also allowing parts of yourself to gently pass, pivoting old efforts toward new beginnings.

Whether you’re grieving, processing, or pivoting, you can guide your present moment experience.

Here's a holistic trio that works well together:

  • Journaling — write what you're feeling,  record voice memos, or film videos

  • Movement — even a short 10-minute nature walk  can help clear your head

  • Fragrance — light or layer something that makes you feel like yourself

Three years ago I lost my mother — and with her, a version of myself I didn't know I was still holding onto. The grief was heavy, the kind that follows you into every room and sits with you in every quiet moment. For a long time, I didn't know who I was without her here.

But grief has a way of cracking you open. I stopped running from what hurt and started leaning into stillness, ritual, and the small sacred acts of caring for myself on the days I least felt like I deserved it. Slowly I began to rebuild. Not the same version of me. A fuller one.

Three years later, I am still grieving. And I am also blooming. I share this because someone needs to know that bold and broken can exist in the same body. That a beautiful life doesn't require a painless past. That you can carry your loss with grace and still show up — radiant, intentional, and fully alive.

Part 4: Share the Bloom — Giving the Gift of Self-Care

Self-care is a contagious attitude. When you tend to yourself, you give others permission to do the same. And when you gift someone a ritual, you're telling them: you deserve this.

Mother's Day (May 10) is right around the corner. Here's how to craft a self-care experience she'll actually use:

  • Choose a scent she loves — our candles pair beautifully with the matching body products

  • Layer in a scrub + butter combo for the full shower-to-skin experience

  • Add a Luxury Body Spray –  a long-lasting alternative to harmful synthetic fragrances.

  • Write a handwritten note about why she deserves to be pampered
